The eclipse, frame by frame

The eclipse study

One eclipse over a cove in Ibiza, from the whole sun to its return. It plays once, in about a minute.

The record

The sixty frames, whole and in order. One plate was made by an image model; the sun, the moon and the light were drawn over it by code. Every frame is measured against its neighbours: from one frame to the next, the rock moves at most 0.002 % of the frame’s height, and the sun at most 0.1 %.
